Lawyer Referral Service

The Lorain County Bar Association is pleased to announce that we now have the ability to assist persons in need of legal services by utilizing our Lawyer Referral Service (“LRS”). The LCBA takes calls from individuals willing and able to pay usual and customary attorney fees and matches them with attorney participants on various LRS practice panels. In its first full year of operation, the LCBA matched over 700 individuals and companies with lawyers that participate in the service.

When the LCBA receives a call from an individuals/company seeking an attorney referral, the LCBA determines if a caller’s problem(s) require the assistance of an attorney. Those that do, and can afford to hire counsel, will be referred by the LRS to a participating attorney from a panel of practice areas. Those callers that appear to be unable to pay reasonable fees for legal representation will be referred to the Pro Bono Panel or The Legal Aid Society. Participation in the LRS is open to all licensed attorneys having an office in Lorain County, Ohio, or any contiguous county subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Application and Agreement.

This program is one more way that the LCBA is working to serve the needs of both our members and the community. If you have any questions regarding specifics, please contact the Bar Association at 440-323-8416.
