This program will provide an overview of the basics of Elder Law, including a definition of elder law and long term care, an explanation of the different ways that long term care is paid, and when a client should start the planning process.  We look at the available housing options as a client moves from home care to more care. We will discuss Medicare, Medicaid, and Veteran’s Benefits, including the eligibility requirements, the benefits provided under each program, and the application process.   The benefits of long term care insurance will be discussed, along with what to look for when comparing policy options.  Finally, you will learn the 10 common mistakes to avoid.
