12:00 noon    Intermediate Elder Law

This program will take an indepth look at the Medicaid program for long-term care.  We will discuss the types of services that Medicaid covers, including the eligibility requirements and the application for each.  The documents required by the Medicaid caseworkers will be outlined.  The 5-year look back rule will be presented, along with how Medicaid determines the period of time for improper transfers made during the look back period.  We will explore planning techniques which allow a person to qualify for Medicaid, yet maximize the assets that are available to them.  Finally, even if you are not interested in adding Elder Law to your practice, we will identify standard estate planning techniques that may become pitfalls for Medicaid planning.
