2008 Annual Golf Outing
The Lorain County Bar Association held its annual golf outing on Friday, August 22, 2008, at Grey Hawk Golf Club in Lagrange, Ohio. The weather was picture perfect and the outing was enjoyed by all. Approximately 60 golfers participated in the outing and over 80 people came for the steak dinner at the Ninth Bristro at Grey Hawk. It was delicious! Congratulations to John Goodman and his team consisting of Carl Innocenti and Roc Sparks. They won the outing with a very impressive 16 under par. Ken Resar, Mike Camera, Pat Riley, and Dave Berta came in second place; and John Keys, John Haynes, Omer Cunningham and Jeff Nedwick came in third. Prizes were also awarded for closest to the pin: Brendan Mackin, Chris Rothgery, Matt Barrett and Aaron Quinn; and for the longest drive: Dan Malloy and Roc Sparks. Congratulations!

Announce Dual Membership Agreement
The LCBA is very pleased and excited to announce a new partnership between the Lorain County Bar Association and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association (formerly the Cleveland Bar Association and the Cuyahoga County Bar Association) (“CMBA”). This partnership offers LCBA members the opportunity to join the CMBA at a discounted rate.
The CMBA offers many benefits of membership. One of the greatest benefits of joining the CMBA is free access to Fastcase, a comprehensive 50 state law library available online. Fastcase is the fastest growing legal research tool in the world. For your review, we have enclosed two flyers, one describes Fastcase and the other highlights some of the other benefits of joining.
The normal rate for membership in the CMBA is $290. The CMBA offers a Schedule B membership to attorneys that live and practice outside of Cuyahoga County. You receive all of the benefits of membership at a lower rate ($110). However, as a Lorain County Bar Association member, your rate is discounted even further. The cost to join the CMBA through the LCBA is only $100!
By taking advantage of this offer through the LCBA, there are no applications to fill out to join the CMBA. All you have to do is check the line item on the enclosed dues statement. You then pay the LCBA for both your LCBA dues and your CMBA dues ($125 and $100, respectively, for a total of $225).
